I love how Snape says how he can help Draco with such a pause that we, the reader, know what he truly meant at that moment, and how it all got cocked up at the end.

JKR both does romance right and horribly wrong in these books, it makes me want to smack her. Harry/Cho = Right, slow, awkward build up of cute. Harry/Ginny = Out of nowhere Eh?! Fleur/Bill = Right, they've been dating since the end of book four. Tonks/Lupin = Since when, huh, WTF?!

  while I enjoy harry/ginny, I agree that it was way too fast. there are bits and pieces about it throughout the series, but the execution was insanely quick.
  
  while I disliked the cho angel, you are 100% right about how it was written. it really had the realistic awkwardness down pat.
  
  I am loving your impressions with this read through!

    There was a ton of Ginny > Harry, but I saw nary a shred of Harry > Ginny until this book. He hadn't even noticed she was an entity until she started talking in book five, and then he was all > Cho. Drives me mad.
    
    Glad you like the comments. I won't go back and re-read my old ones from last year when I did this pre-book seven, to see how they differ, until I'm through. Amazing how much your perspective changes upon reading when you know the entire tale.
